| Statute No. 11 -- Admissions | |||

| 1. |
The Academic Council shall be responsible for determining: (a) policy on the academic aspects of admission of students to the University, and (b) which courses and majors shall have a quota limiting the total number of students who may be admitted. The Council may delegate this authority to a committee of the University. Every such delegation shall be revocable by the Council, and no delegation shall prevent the Council carrying out the responsibilities imposed on it by this Statute. |

Responsibility for determining the levels of admission quotas and targets - for the entire University, for levels of study and for parts of the University - rests with the appropriate Pro Vice Chancellor designated by the Bachelor Degree Regulations. The designated Pro Vice Chancellor will exercise this power only after consultation with the Executive Deans. |

The Senate may make regulations authorising Committee(s) or officer(s) of the University to make decisions on the admission of individual students. |

| 4. |
The Academic Council shall make Rules providing for the award of credit and exemptions for students admitted without examination to status in the University. |

| 5. |
The former Statute No. 11--Admissions and Statute No. 13--Admission to Status are hereby repealed. |
