Statute No. 1 -- Official Seal

(approved 11/9/1973, amended 07/09/2004)

1. The Official Seal of the University shall be kept in the custody of the General Counsel and shall not be used except pursuant to a resolution of the Senate.

2. Every instrument to which the Official Seal is affixed shall be signed by any one of the Chancellor, the Pro-Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor and shall be countersigned by the General Counsel or some other person appointed by the Senate for that purpose.

3. A register of instruments to which the Official Seal is affixed shall be kept by the General Counsel.
