In second semester each year elections are held for the following student positions. What each of these bodies or positions do is described here.

Academic Council	1 undergraduate, 1 postgraduate, 1 student based at a Regional campus
Faculty Learning & Teaching Committees	2 students enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate course or major based in the Faculty
School Boards	2 students enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework course or major based in the School
Occupational Health and Safety Policy Committee	1 undergraduate, 1 postgraduate

* Employees of the University or Guild of Students are not entitled to nominate for the student positions on Senate.
