Templates and Generic unit information

In the flexible model (FLIC) an economical approach to unit information is used. Generic information which is common to all units has been summarized and links are used to provide detailed information. The online Unit Welcome Page which is created for each unit provides these and other useful links (http://online.murdoch.edu.au/public/UNITCODE).

The FLIC unit templates model the economical approach. If your printed unit guide is less than 60 pages it can be reproduced in A5 format, further reducing printing costs.

Online Unit template

You will automatically receive a template when you submit a request for a new online unit from MyPortal using the Teaching & Learning tab.

Unit template for print

This template provides for both internal and external students and has two parts:

1. Unit Information - this provides an overview of the unit.
2. Learning Guide - this provides more detailed study information, organised topic by topic.

You may wish to provide these in one document or it may suit you to make them into two.

NOTE: The A5 template uses a larger font which is readable when the document is reduced for printing in A5 format. Reduction is done by Murdoch Print.

The unit template is updated regularly to accommodate changes in policy and other developments.

It is recommended that you view the record of these changes if you are updating an existing unit guide.
