Regional Development in the South West
Murdoch University is the university in the Rockingham and Peel region of the South West.
The Rockingham Campus opened in 1996 and already has over 1 000 students studying subjects including education, community development in Rockingham, and business.
The new Peel Campus in Mandurah opened in 2005 with a focus on nursing studies. Practical equipment is a priority. The first graduates have already made an impact in the region with many of them choosing to live and work in Mandurah and surrounding areas. Support for the campus and the School of Nursing can be used to provide up to date equipment and resources so that the students are well trained and ready to work when they graduate.
Each of these campuses was started with community consultation to determine student and community needs and to involve the community in supporting and using the facilities. As these communities grow, so will their educational needs and you can assist us to meet those needs in a variety of ways. You can make a gift to Murdoch University and request that it is used specifically at one of our regional campuses for staffing, facilities, student prizes and scholarships or special programs.
We are committed to providing an excellent university education to our regional communities and your assistance could be used to make a real difference in these regions.
Please call our Development and Communications Office on +61 8 9360 2894 to talk about how your gift can help meet the educational needs of these communities.
