Dr Alison Gaines
Dr Alison Gaines is a graduate of Murdoch University (Master of Arts Public Policy), served on a faculty advisory committee and for nine years was a member of the Senate of the University. She was Deputy Chancellor from 2007 - 2009. She was awarded an Honorary Doctor of the University and is currently an adjunct professor of its Law School. She chaired the 2009 review of Academic Council. She joined the University’s Banksia Association Committee in 2009 and the Foundation Board in 2011 to concentrate on the philanthropic engagement of the University to sustain its students, scholarship and research.
Alison has extensive director and non-executive director experience. She is Global Practice Leader of the Board Consulting practice for international services firm Gerard Daniels. She is a Governor of The College of Law (Australasia) Ltd and Chair of the College of Law Western Australia Pty Ltd; Divisional Council member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors; and Director of Leadership WA, as well as participating in other community governance. Alison was Chief Executive Officer of the Law Society of Western Australia for nine years following a long career in the Australian and Western Australian public sectors and Australian universities.
Alison participated in the "Australia 2020 Summit" and she was awarded the ListInspire Professional Woman Award 2008. She actively supports the arts, education and indigenous community initiatives.
