Supporting our uni

There are many opportunities to support Murdoch University; research, student prizes and scholarship, new facilities and equipment, special projects, events and sponsorships. We would like to talk to you about which opportunity is the best match for you.

Cultural gifts

Murdoch University Art Collection

Murdoch University's art collection began in 1974, the University's foundation year. The art collection has now expanded to contain a rich variety of works in various media, including sculpture, paintings, drawings and limited edition prints.

As a university based public collection these high quality pieces stimulate, inspire and provoke thought, and add to the store of human knowledge. The collection mirrors Murdoch University's values emphasizing diversity and sustainable solutions to contemporary issues.

Many of the collection's pieces have been donated to the University by artists and collectors. The pieces are carefully housed, conserved and exhibited throughout the University’s public spaces where they can inspire, intrigue and delight students, staff and community members who experience them.

Gifts of art can be accepted under the Government's Cultural Gifts program which entitles the donor to a tax deduction to the market value of the artwork. You can also make a financial gift towards new pieces of art for the collection.

Please contact the Development Office on +61 8 9360 7252 to discuss how to make a gift to the University's Art Collection or call +61 8 9360 6602 to talk to the Art Collection's Curator about specific needs.
