Oncology services

There are a number of factors that have changed the face of veterinary cancer patient management in recent years. Many previously unsolvable problems now have solutions.

There has been an explosion of information on medical and surgical management of cancer patients. Clinical case studies describing responses to chemotherapy and surgical intervention are being released on a monthly basis in peer-reviewed journals.

Palliative chemotherapy and palliative surgery, where appropriate, is aimed to significantly improve the quality of life of our patients for many months to years.
The availability of advanced imaging, including computed tomography (CT) and ultrasound, has improved our ability to diagnose, stage and pre-operatively plan our patients.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy protocols are tailored for each patient depending on the tumour type and your wishes.

Treatment regimes are designed to maximise treatment success, improve survival times and most importantly to improve quality of life.

Client education and support are paramount and are provided by Murdoch Animal Cancer Care Unit staff. After each treatment, you will be updated on progress.
