Small Animal Referral Services - Oncology facilities
The Murdoch Animal Cancer Care Unit is a purpose-built facility which has been designed and built to comply with a set of Australian Standards for such facilities.
Critical features include a fume hood for drug preparation, a sophisticated air conditioning system, and special filters to ensure that air exhausted from the Unit does not contaminate the environment.
The Murdoch Animal Cancer Care Unit is needle free.
The preparation and administration of chemotherapy can be a risky business for veterinary and nursing staff. We are keen to deliver the very best service and to ensure that our staff are kept as safe as possible. It is for this reason that we are the first veterinary oncology unit to utilise needle-free connector systems to maximise safety.
The Murdoch Animal Cancer Care Unit has been funded by the Murdoch University Veterinary Trust and the School of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences.
