Pathology and Clinical Pathology facilities

The clinical pathology laboratory is located directly adjacent to the Hospital.

It has modern equipment including multiheader digital photomicroscopes, automated analysers for blood biochemistry, haematology, electrolytes and blood gas, as well as facilities for bacteriological culture and identification, and for teaching veterinary students.

The laboratory does not operate a sample pick up service.

The anatomic pathology service includes a necropsy suite and histology laboratory, as well as modern teaching facilities for veterinary and other students.

The histology laboratory undertakes routine staining, frozen section preparation, as well as specialized histochemistry and immunohistochemistry for diagnosis, research and teaching.
