About us
Murdoch University Child Care Centre is a not-for-profit community child care centre that was established in 1978 to serve the needs of the University’s staff and students, as well as the surrounding community.
The specially designed Centre, set in its own grounds to the west of Murdoch University's Education building, can accomodate 48 children from the age of six months to six years at any one time.
The Centre is managed by a committee of unpaid volunteers, the Murdoch Child Care Association. It is an approved service for the payment of the Child Care Benefit.
Murdoch University Child Care is open from 8.00am - 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, closing for four weeks during the Christmas Holidays. The Centre closes only for those public holidays observed by the University.
Our Centre's accreditation
Everyone involved in our Centre is aware of the need for quality childcare. The Centre is accredited by the National Childcare Accreditation Council.
Copies of the Centre’s policies can be downloaded or requested from the office. The curriculum is also available on this website or a hard copy can be requested from the office. If any further information is required, please contact the Director of the Centre on (08) 9360 2610.
Our staff
We have a stable and mature team of experienced staff who have been working at the Centre continuously for a number of years - some staff have cared for some of our parents who now have children at the Centre.

Our Director
Jacqui has many years experience relating to child care: as an educator, pedagogical advisor, lecturer and curriculum writer. She is passionate about quality care and education for pre-schoolers. Jacqui has also qualified as an Art Therapist and finds that young children, although they may not be able to speak or write, can express complex thoughts and feelings through their art. Jacqui sees her primary role, at Murdoch University Child Care, as a mentor, community developer, pedagogical guide, staff supporter, provocateur of fun and learning and an adopted auntie to all the children who come through our doors.
