Workplace Giving

Did you know that if just 10 per cent of the Australian workforce donated $5 a week from their pay through workplace giving, an extra $250 million would be raised for our communities?

Workplace giving is a simple program where you can donate to a community organisation (with deductible gift recipient status) directly from your pay and the University will forward your donation directly to the community organisation. Your income tax is then calculated on the reduced gross salary (pre-tax), giving you the benefit of an immediate tax deduction.

Details of the deduction amounts are recorded on your payment summary so there is no need to keep receipts for your tax return.

Two causes which you can help right here in the School of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences are the Murdoch University Veterinary Trust and Zero’s Animal Rescue Fund (ZARF).

ZARF is a volunteer based initiative dedicated to the rescue and re-homing of mistreated, sick, and injured stray animals through the Murdch Unversity Veterinary Hospital. Through the provision of quality care, manditory sterilization, and thorough screening of potential new homes they aim to promote responsible pet ownership in the larger community. Murdoch University Veterinary Trust supports international excellence in veterinary science at the Murdoch University School of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences. Funds donated to the Vet Trust are used to improve buildings and facilities used by the School, help purchase new equipment, fund scholarships and prizes, fund research and teaching positions. If you wish your donation to the Vet Trust to be used to fund a particular area, please contact the Vet Trust on e.hislop@murdoch.edu.au for a confidential discussion.
