Woody Kat
1998 - 2010
Beloved friend of Raelene, playmate and confidante to Mia and Michelle
My neighbour brought home a gorgeous tabby and white kitten that was a stray at Midland Gate Shopping Centre back in 1998. She named him Woodstock (she was a hippy). Sensibly Woody adopted me and I named him Woody Kat!
I was working from home as a therapist treating muscle pain. I always knew when patients had arrived because Woody would make them stop for a quick chat first before letting them in the house with his big meow! I think they actually were coming to see Woody rather than me. He was my "Guard Kat"!
He was also a true family cat - this photo of my daughters when they were young wouldn't have been complete without the Woodster in it. Just about all of our family photos have Woody somewhere in them!
He appreciated the arts as well. When I was learning to play the flute, he would always sit attentively to listen on the kitchen table, but quite rudely turn his ears backwards!!
Sadly he passed away on ANZAC day this year. He had a large mass in his abdomen.
Thank you Woody for many years of good times, great "conversations" and lots of laughter!
My girls will always have very cherished memories of Woody- their first cat.
