Cosmo Wake
26th October 1996 to 8th March 2007
Cosmo was born in a Navel Base and was selected from a litter of Siamese / Balinese Kittens. He cried all the way home to Bunbury and then hid under the bed for days.
He had a gentle nature and always loved to cuddle in, at breakfast time he loved to lay on the newspaper or burst into the toilet, bunting the door with his head. Cosmo only wanted his mummy and daddy and his whole life revolved around them.
Communication was normally a series of squeaks or sometimes a muffled grunt, he always knew how to get what he wanted. He has shared his life with us for the last 10 years and now it seems so empty without him, his basket where he used to sleep in the shed looking down the driveway is empty, he can’t be found sleeping under his favourite shrubs in the garden.
We miss him on Sundays when he would fight us for some Red Rooster Chicken or Mondays when we had roast lamb, or when we would carefully select his Dine from the supermarket, rejecting what varieties he didn’t like the week before. In the cold of winter Cosmo always slept with us under the rugs with his head on the pillow or would stretch out in front of the fire.
He was so fit and healthy all his life it seemed he would live a long life, however in May of 2006 he became ill and spent 3 days at the vets. When he came home he seemed alright however his eating never returned to normal. In January 2007 he seemed to be loosing to much weight cancer was diagnosed which we thought was operable however he was so weak he did not survive long after the operation.
Cosmo was buried in the Hibiscus garden alongside Mingo (our Siamese cat who died in 1997). As with Mingo, we have erected a plaque in his memory.
Special thanks to Harradine and Associates for their efforts in trying to save our Cosmo…..A very special little baby……..rest easy little man.
