Astro Saunders
3 July 1994 – 22 April 2008
Astro came to us as a cute ball of black fluff for Katie’s 8th birthday. It was love at first sight. For almost 14 years Astro was part of our family and the mutual love grew with him. Going deaf a couple of years before he died did not restrict Astro’s continued enjoyment of life, especially his walks. He was a wonderful, affectionate and loyal dog who just wanted to be close to his family. His terminal illness came as a shock to us and we reluctantly made the very difficult decision to end his pain rather than see him suffer.
Astro is missed so very much and is irreplaceable. The house isn’t the same without him. We hold onto our happiest memories of him: playing chasey, snuggling up, trying to blend into the floor at bath-time, and the way he bounced up and down with excitement when we mentioned “tats” (Astrospeak for “walk”).
Thanks to the caring staff at Edgewater Veterinary Hospital for their excellent care of Astro over the years.
Astro’s ashes have a special place in our garden.
RIP little Flufferty.
