Our Beautiful Boy
Jasper Patterson
30.8.04 - 20.10.09
Jasper a Blue Merle Border Collie came to us as a 5 week old puppy who fit in the palm of our hand. The moment we saw him we knew he was the boy for us, our love for Jasper was instant.
Although your life was far too short we are blessed to have so many wonderful memories of you. You were with us all of the time, never leaving our side. On the rare occasion when we had to leave you we made sure you were in the best of hands with your loved ones and having a great time.
You were the first to know everything important that ever happened in our life. When we got engaged, you were at your Nan's house in Margaret River and we were in Broome. We phoned your Nan that night and asked her to put you on the phone so you could be the first to know. Everybody else had to wait another week! You were there next to us on our wedding day, where you absolutely shone and were undoubtedly the start of the day. You were so happy that day to have everybody you know and loved all in the same place. It showed in all of the photos where you were smiling so beautifully. When we fell pregnant, I laid on the floor with you and told you that your were going to be a big brother and you had a big job on your hands helping us to take care of the baby. Unfortunately the day after we lost you, and were missing you so badly, we lost our other baby too. I can only hope that you are together somewhere taking care of each other.
You had so many friends and were loved by so many including humans, dogs and cats alike. No-one could resist those beautiful big blue eyes. You were so loved by both your Nan and Pop in Boyanup and Nan and Pop in Margaret River. Your best mates Bear (also your Dad) and BJ (your brother) have been to visit and wondered where you are, I wish they could understand. I hope your other best mate Ben who passed away just before you has found you and you are having a ball chasing each other around, just how you liked it!
You used to go to work everyday on various building sites around the south west. You were loved by everyone on site and were well recognised around town. Those who didn't even know you knew that beautiful dog with the piercing blue eyes with his head hanging out the side of the canopy! But most of all you loved going to work with your Dad and sitting up the front with him with your head resting on his shoulder and your paw on top of his while he was changing the gears. I think this was when you were the most content. You really loved a cuddle and gave the most wonderful kisses, even though
you didn't like to receive them in return!
We are so sorry that you had to suffer the way you did, it just wasn't fair. You have given us so much and we felt like we owed you so much in return. We wanted to give you every chance we could to pull through it but in the end it wasn't enough. We were so relieved to know that you were in such good hands at Murdoch with Fleur and all the wonderful nurses there. Their caring and compassion meant so much to us and we know that they did absolutely everything they could to save our beautiful boy.
From the bottom of our heart, THANK YOU.
Jas we miss you more than you can imagine and think of you everyday. Our lives will never be the same without you and you will always be in our hearts.
We love you our little man.
