Freeloader Martin
Born 2000, died 2004
He dropped by in July 2001 and Spook invited him in for a meal. I didn’t get to touch him until October.
His first of many visits to the vet was in December for a little op. From then on he decided to stay most of the time.
He was a free spirit and carried the feral genes so he wandered far and wide. Sometimes he stayed away for a week then less frequently as he started to like the comfort of a warm bed (mine), a great mate Spook and lots of food.
We didn’t adopt him, he adopted us. He was unique in all ways. Very vocal, he would tell you about his day and demand to be fed NOW NOW NOW.
If I went anywhere on foot, he would come too; he owned me of course. When he wanted a cuddle, which was often, he would leap onto my chest and smooch and purr loudly.
He was a big gentle bat-wing eared fellow, all 9kgs of him.
The three years with us were entertaining, loving and wonderful. I miss him, Spook misses him (her royal hissyness) will reserve comment.
