Max

01 Jan 1997 to 20 July 2005

We still remember vividly how Max had changed our lives.

When he first joined the family, Max was still a little baby, in the hands of mum, looking nervously at us, not knowing how to respond to our enthusiasm. However, being a brave boy like he was, it did not take long for him to shake his shyness away. Very soon after his arrival, we found Max running around the sitting room, barking at the street, biting the sofa, jumping into everyone, catching everyone’s attention, and, most importantly, giving us his love.

He was also a hard working guy, taking up many responsibilities to maintain the well being of the family: He was a diligent butler, greeting everyone who had just come back home; he was a sparkling comedian, filling the room with happiness and laughter; he was a perfect husband, taking care of his beautiful wife Sammi; he was a talented PR, keeping our guests happy and busy; he was a professional psychologist, listening to everyone’s problem, without spilling out a word; he was also a committed guardian, protecting us from danger, barking our enemies away.

Time drifted away, and everyone grew old. Before we realised, Max turned into a sophisticated gentleman. He became an indispensable part of the family, providing us with warmth, caring and love. Even when he was ill, he still assiduously assumed his responsibilities, despite the enormous pain he must have had. Max was a brave boy. He fought fearlessly against cancer, and did not give up even until at the very end.

It is still very difficult for us to accept the fact that Max has left us. It might take us a long time to understand that he has actually gone. We believe, nevertheless, his love to us still remains in our hearts, warming us, and giving us support, whenever and wherever we need him.

Max, goodbye, and we love you.
