Libby Laird
After some ten years living in Hong Kong without a dog, I persuaded my husband that our youngest son needed a pet and his answer was that we get a small breed due to us living in an apartment. A chance meeting with a Cavalier Prince Charles, who had just had a litter of puppies, saw us visiting them and choosing who we now know as our beloved Libby. Not having known this breed before, I can only say they make wonderful pets.
Libby was to become a much loved and adored member of our family; a wonderful little companion. Living in an apartment as we do, ones life intimately revolves around your pet. Libby enjoyed our favourite pastime of walking and was seen many a weekend tramping the hillsides in and around Hong Kong. It always amazed us that she walked twice as far as we did, as when we were with our walking group, she would run from the front to the back, always checking that we were near by.
She was a member of the family, and slept either by our bed or at the end of it. We treasure the 12 years we have had her, but mourn her loss. She was taken from us without warning and has left a void that is going to be difficult to fill.
