Roxy the Boxer
(1997 - 2007)

R.I.P. ROXY
Our beautiful boxer dog passed away on 6th sept 2007. My hubby and I got a letter from Murdoch University to say that our vet from 'Harradine and associates' in Bunbury had given a donation in memory of Roxy. We were very happy with the way the vets handled every aspect of looking after Roxy. We havn't got another dog yet, as we still miss Roxy, we don't think we could get another boxer as good as her. Thankyou so much to Harradine and associates and also to Murdoch University.
Roxy had cancer of the mouth and was operated on. The cancer grew back only within 12 months but was worse, this time it was time to make a decision.
The story I have written was only within days of her passing and was posted on my photography website. I received lots of beautiful comments from other people who had lost animals.
We still get very emotional when we talk about Roxy.
Our beautiful pet "ROXY" our white boxer dog has gone to heaven. My husband and I made the horrible horrible decision to have her put to sleep last thursday the 6 sept. Roxy had that horrible Cancer disease in her mouth and was operated on in June of this year. The vet could not take the cancer out of her bottom jaw as he would have had to cut her jaw away. The cancer grew more and more on the bottom jaw after the op and we took her back to the vet last week knowing that he still could not fix her. I was not expecting my husband to ring me and tell us the bad news, I thought maybe he might bring her home from the vet. The vet told us we could have her operated on but we would have to feed her for the rest of her life as she would have no bottom jaw and her quality of life would be gone. I drove to the vet as I wanted to say goodbye to Roxy and cried all the way there. By the time I got there I was a mess!! Allan and I decided to have her put to sleep that day. Roxy didn't know she was going to heaven, she was just happy to see us and was thinking that the vet was going to fix her again. My husband and I were so distraught in the vet and Roxy was probably wondering why? I said goodbye to her first and gave her a big cuddle and kiss and Roxy looked up with her big beautiful eyes and shook my hand.! I walked out of the room and my husband Allan said she did the same to him. I couldn't watch Roxy get put to sleep.
Roxy touched everyones heart and was the most devoted loyal companion. She never did anything wrong. Roxy was Allan's shadow and was forever with him, he misses her every minute of the day!!
Just thought I would share this with anyone who has ever lost a pet. Roxy was part of our life for 10 years. Our hearts are broken. Roxy will be buried at the pet cemetary this week.
