Koda Hicks

We all miss Koda very much as he was such a big part of our lives in so many different ways. He is now laid to rest next to Dad’s shed under a mini gazebo in a lovely spot in the garden.

We love you so much Koda; we will miss you always. You will always be in our hearts and we will see you again.

Koda loved certain foods and drinks like hot chicken, coffee in the morning with Dad, eating half a Smack at night, drinking milk out of Dad’s glass, raspberry ice blocks, barbeques and pig’s ears.

He also loved
• to lay on the bed with Mum and sleep in of a morning
• going up to the shed with Dad
• Freedom coming home from School
• Freedom giving him a kiss on the head to say goodnight
• playing with Pusha the cat
• running around the backyard with a peg in his mouth
• playing with Pig (the guinea pig)
• his basket
• jumping in Mum’s bag
• sitting with Dad while he played the playstation
• sitting near the heater in winter
• Koda especially loved his sock (socks inside a sock) which Freedom made for him (now buried with him).

HABITS

• Sticking his tongue out
• Lifting both back legs when he pee’d
• Doing the moon walk.

OPERATION

Koda had an operation when he was four years old. His trachea had collapsed. He survived the operation but had then his larynx tied so unfortunately he lost his bark. We nicknamed him “Koda de woofer”.

WHAT WE MISS MOST

DAD

• Sharing coffee with Koda
• Working in the shed with him
• Koda standing on my foot every time I stopped
• Cooking his T-bone ready to have with us beside the table
• Meeting me at the door when I came home
• Drinking out of my glass
• Taking him to the toilet
• Playing with him with his toys
• Koda sleeping on the bed with us.

MUM

• Getting Koda ready with his toys to go to Nanny and Poppy’s
• Koda running to meet people at the door
• Feeding him Smackos before he went to bed
• Night-time with him
• Koda’s sweet little nose
• Doing things for Koda like putting his hair into a ponytail
• Saying to him “put ya tongue in”
• Snuggling up to him and nibbling his ear.

FREEDOM (Sissy)

• Koda coming to meet me when I came home from school
• Feeding him his biscuits at night
• His tongue hanging out
• Watching him follow Dad everywhere
• Saying goodnight
• Playing with him and his toys
• Koda just being around
• What he looked like after a bath
• Koda doing something and Dad making a funny comment.
