Eddie Djano

My beloved little Eddie

Neither your fine white fur on all of my clothing and furniture, nor your over enthusiastic shoveling of cat litter throughout the laundry could ever diminish the enjoyment I experienced from having you in my house and life. You were a charismatic little critter who loved, in equal measure, lounging in sunny pot plants, and jumping the fence at dusk, like a little Houdini (regaining my trust gradually by staying put, until suddenly deciding that you could resist the lure of a nocturnal jaunt no longer). You were also an easy going little guy, demanding at dinner time and when wanting to play games chasing string, but more usually relaxed and happy, sprawling out on your back, or approaching for pats on a regular basis. Happy to be picked up and hugged-usually, but if not, you'd indulge us anyway now and then, with that unimpressed look you'd sometimes get.

Eddie, your presence made the day to day much more enjoyable - working winter mornings were more bearable (when you'd lie in wait at the shower door, then follow me to the kitchen for breakfast). You would always appear and yawn or meow to say hello at the end of a working day, and as a little companion, you were just the coolest, most loveable and spirited cat. I really miss having you around and wish I could have looked after and loved you for longer. Hopefully I contributed to making your life a better one too, which is as much as any of us living creatures can ultimately hope to do for one another.

Susan
