Cougar Chilvers

1989 - 2005

Cougar, named after John 'Cougar' Melencamp, was a 16th birthday present to my daughter from a school friend. He moved into a house with two resident cats. They were mates, sleeping on the same chair which left Cougar on his own, but he soon noticed that they let their tails hang down...Ha Ha!

By the time we moved to Busselton, Cougar was the only cat and he became my husband's constant companion. He helped with gardening, kept the computer chair warm and even tried his paws at felting wool.

He was sick for the last year but the vets at the Busselton Vet Hospital were great helping with his failing kidneys. It was sad that they finally gave up when we were away on holiday. My son drove down and was able to hold him during his last injection. Cougar is survived by his friend Piper the budgie.
