Apollo Cicconi

1994 – 2008

I first met Apollo over 8 years ago, he had already been my future wife’s soul mate and protector for 6 years. Fortunately he allowed us enough space to get acquainted and married soon after. I always knew Apollo had accepted me into the household – he would always guard me when I was on the couch or in bed, he would give me a lick when I got home but he was never content until my wife came through the front door. I think it is impossible for anyone to fathom the bond between my wife and Apollo – I’ve never seen anything quite like it. I miss him terribly. Monica is taking it day by day but is obviously very distressed. If you’ve ever lost a very close person in your life you might be able to appreciate the kind of grief she is going through – don’t let anyone trivialize the grief you can experience when you lose a pet.

Don’t worry Apollo, I’ll look after her now – I’ve got some very big shoes to fill.
