“Midnight” Brown

For almost 18 years, we were blessed to be chosen as Midnight’s family. Our gently, loving friend was my wedding gift to my husband, his brother Diamond (who died age 3), was mine. Midnight was actually born on my husband’s birthday, so the bond the two of them shared, was uniquely special. “Mate”, as he was affectionately known as, made the long, brave journey with us from Melbourne to Perth nearly four years ago and taught all of us to appreciate the beauty in quiet moments.

We will dearly miss the way he would scream to be let into the shower with us, follow us everywhere in his quest for food, stretch out by the window with the sunlight gently resting on his fur and the way he would lovingly look into our eyes and reach up and kiss us as he nestled on our chests at cuddle time. Just as there is so much to miss, there is so much to be grateful for and so many wonderful memories for all of us to treasure.
