Jasper Backus

Jasper had the good fortune to be wearing a tag with my husband's "dog tag" number from the war, so from the many residents of the Cat Haven, he was the obvious choice. He was sociable as well as beautiful, and charmed his way into the hearts and kitchens of many of our neighbours. He was a great friend and comfort to my husband in the last stages of his illness for which I shall always be grateful. Although confined to the house at night, his life was cut short on the road outside the house. He was almost 10 years old.
