CLOE BALDWINSON
1993 – 2008
Cloe came to us from the City of Perth Pound in August 1994, a puppy of about a year old. She had been in the Pound for some time and had not been claimed. She was so happy so see us and settled in well. As she grew her black and tan coat became longer and a thick white collar developed around her neck which was admired by many.
Cloe loved going for a ride in the car. Long walks were also a favourite. When we went out and left her alone there was always a happy face at the side gate to welcome us home.
She was friendly to everyone but unsure of small children in her early years.
Cloe did not like dogs – she did not think she was a dog! She was quite happy to share her home with our cats – Leisha and Mandy. Mandy died only 18 months before her at the age of 21 years and for a while Cloe appeared to miss her.
During the winter months she had her special spot beside the heater, her bed and fluffy blanket. In her latter years she liked to sleep on the mat beside my bed.
Cloe kept in good health and was very active all through her life but going to the Vet for her annual vaccination was not her favourite outing. At the end of her life a non-malignant tumour on the side of her neck became a problem and she died on 9 April 20008 aged about 15 years. Her ashes are in our garden with a plaque bearing her name and our tribute which reads "You brightened our lives”. She was one of us.
We miss you Cloe
