Abigail Backus

1995-2000

Abigail was found in a brown paper bag on our local golf course. She was about 6 weeks old. I imagined I could train her at that age not to scratch furniture, jump onto kitchen benches or any of the very naughty habits Jasper had arrived with. Alas, how wrong I was. But she was loyal, very loving and beautifully marked, so that I was persuaded to show her as a "Companion Cat". She was one of the most highly decorated cats ever in the Companion Cat Club during the 2 years of her membership and the day I accidentally ran over her in the garage, New Year's Day 2000, is etched in my memory. She was only 5 years old.
