Find a course

Chrissy Anderson
21st July, 1995 - 24th Sept, 2005
You were a great companion and friend. Never straying far away and gave unconditional love to us all.
We brought you home from the pet shop as cute as can be. With that innocent face and those huge bat-like ears, the left one always flopped over. You loved to sleep in the beanbag. We called you beanbag baby. You craved attention all the time, except when you were sleeping. We made you can indoor dog so that you became part of the family. I'm sure you could understand very word.
Jessica and I took you to Puppy Preschool. There was Kindy class and then you graduated to Grade One. You passed both with flying colours. We could not have been any prouder. The ribbons you earned still take pride of place.
When you were older we would take you to the beach. You would chase the tiny fish in the water. We would run along the sand and you got dirtier than all of us.
We would play frisbee in the backyard. Chase a ball. Jessica made an obstacle course which you jumped and played with. You would go 'psyco' as Jessica called it, and run circles in the backyard till you wore yourself out. Then you'd come inside and lie down and recuperate.
Then this year you got very sick. We did not know what was wrong. You wouldn't eat or drink and looked very sad. I found you outside under the camellia tree, curled up in a ball. It seemed as though you knew your end was near. You felt listless and couldn't walk. I took you to our vet and they did blood tests. Exploratory surgery was the next option, but you were going downhill fast. It found nothing wrong. We visited you in the hospital and you knew we were there. It was all a matter of time.
On 24th September 2005 the phone rang at 9.00 am. It was Kirsten from the Vet Hospital. She said you had passed away. It was the saddest day for all of us.
Chrissy, we had great times and fun times too numerous to mention. You will never be forgotten. Those sorrowful brown eyes and the love you gave will always be remembered. You were a great member of our family and we were blessed to have had you in our lives. We will miss you heaps. Rest in peace.
Thanks to Greg, Michael, Kirsten and staff at Miramar Veterinary Hospital for all your help in such a distressing time. Also to Greg Kidd for the donation you made to Murdoch University Caring for Pets Fund in memory of Chrissy. Thank you to Murdoch University Vet Trust for your kind thoughts and allowing this memorial of a great friend.
