About Us

The Veterinary Trust was established for the principal purpose of supporting veterinary science at Murdoch University and to assist with the advancement of veterinary science, research and education in Australia.

Since establishment in 1997, supporters of the Veterinary Trust have donated nearly $4 million towards Murdoch’s world class veterinary education, research and animal health services. Fundraising continues to support equipment purchases, facility upgrades, scholarships and research projects.

In December 2014 the M.U.F.T. Company Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Murdoch University, was appointed as the sole corporate trustee for the Veterinary Trust. The Board of the new trustee company has nine directors of highly regarded professionals, business leaders, community members, executive level University staff, and two retired Veterinary Trust trustees. One of the principal objectives of the new trustee company is to ensure good governance practices.

The Veterinary Trust is also guided and assisted by the Murdoch University Veterinary Trust Advisory Committee. This committee is made up of veterinary professionals, business professionals and College of Veterinary Medicine staff. Their aim is to assist the College of Veterinary Medicine to achieve its goals and to help raise funds for this purpose.
