7th International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot 2006 - Perth
News and Winners
Murdoch University School of Law was proud to have hosted the International Maritime Arbitration Moot Competition from 23 – 27 June 2006. The event was a great success, with a record 15 teams competing from 8 nations. The standard of the competition was extremely high.
The students had clearly devoted an enormous amount of effort to their research and preparation.
The grand final was before the Hon. Mr. Malcolm Lee (former Judge of the Federal Court of Australia and National Admiralty Panel Judge), Mr. Justice Ralph Simmonds (Supreme Court of Western Australia), and Mr. David Thomas (partner, Minter Ellison, Brisbane).
The School of Law would like to thank all the arbitrators, the judges of the memoranda and the sponsors of the competition. Their support was integral to the success of the event.
While Murdoch School of Law will remain the organiser of the Competition, the competition in 2007 will be conducted at Victoria University, Melbourne. Details and dates will be available on this website by November 2006. We are all looking forward to another excellent competition!
