Computing Resources
All Law students studying at Murdoch have their computer account enabled for the Clayton Utz Computer Laboratory, located in room LAW1.110 on level 1 of the Law building (opposite the Law Café), and the Blake Dawson Waldron Computer Laboratory, located in room LAW2.116 on level 2 of the new Law building.
Access to the computers is free, however printing in the laboratories is charged at a rate of 11 cents per page (inc. GST). Student accounts are activated two (2) weeks before the start of semester.
Your account name, or 'username', is your student number.
Your password is your MAIS PIN.
If you would like to be able to print in the labs, please pay the University Cashier (minimum $5 inc. GST) located in the Chancellery building, and present your receipt to the Library IT Help Desk just inside the main library entrance to have your printing account credited.
IT Assistance
If you have a problem with your account, (e.g. password not working), if the printer needs paper or toner, or a machine appears faulty please go to the Library IT Help Desk or call them on ext 2000.
Law Library
Regarded as one of the best in Australia, Murdoch's Law Library seats over 300 and has more than 80,000 printed volumes with particular strengths in Australian, English, USA, New Zealand and Canadian primary materials and law journals.
Its ever-expanding collection supports the School's research centres, the Asia Pacific Intellectual Property Law Institute and the Asia Pacific Centre for Human Rights and the Prevention of Ethnic Conflict.
The library promotes legal research by providing seamless access to an extensive range of databases via the library web pages which supports on and off campus access to these essential research resources. Murdoch staff and students have access to many databases including CCH online, Heinonline, LexisNexis AU, Lexis.com, Thomson Legal Online, Westlaw Australia, Westlaw International, Kluwer Arbitration, AGIS Plus Text, Proquest, Oxford Premium Journals, as well as a directory of useful free online legal resources such as Comlaw, State Law Publisher (WA) AustLII, WorldLII, ComLII, and Weblaw.
