School of
Law

The course

In each January, participants will stay in Hong Kong for a 3-4 week study. The Program’s three units, Introduction to the Chinese Legal System, Chinese Contract and Commercial Law, and Chinese Intellectual Property, give the participants a comprehensive understanding of the most important aspects of contemporary Chinese law.

Upon returning to Australia, participants will have a full semester to complete their final research assessments, which is also part of further learning processes under the supervision of the Program Director Dr. Ken Shao.

As part of the real-life education, participants will be invited to attend a number of high-level visits and cultural activities to enhance their understanding of China. A unique and authentic dimension is brought to the program by its Director, Dr Ken Shao, an expert in Chinese culture, history and legal reform. Dr Shao is dedicated to conveying true “ China knowledge” to participants throughout the entire program.
