Your time at the Murdoch law school will be challenging, fascinating and rewarding. You can expect to receive an excellent legal education that is both intellectually stimulating and socially rewarding. Our progressive outlook and total commitment to quality outcomes along with our high rankings in teaching excellence make us a natural choice for students wanting to study law.

The school maintains close ties with the legal profession and encourages practising lawyers to be involved in our teaching and research programs, meaning that our students have access to networking opportunities and real-world insights to the industry. Our close ties with the legal profession also mean that our curriculum is continuously revised to meet the expectations and demands of modern society.

Our law students can experience first-hand what the legal profession entails by gaining practical experience in our School’s Clinical Legal Education program in partnership with SCALES Ccommunity Legal Clinic, where they can work directly with clients and deal with the real-life issues that shape our society. Our students also have the opportunity to embark on law-specific overseas study programs in Italy, Switzerland, Germany and India, or participate in major international mooting competitions experiencing a truly international education and engaging in the international practice of law.
In addition to Law the school offers attractive majors in Criminology, Law, Business and Society and Business Law as well as minors in Crime Science, Law & Justice and Criminological Psychology.

Criminology has a multidisciplinary approach to studying crime from a range of perspectives including law, sociology and psychology. It will challenge common perceptions of crime, the reduction and prevention of crime, support for victims and offenders and the criminal justice system. You can do a double degree with the Bachelor of Laws and the Bachelor of Arts (Criminology major).

Law, Business and Society provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to analyse the role and function of law in society. In addition this major will provide fundamental legal knowledge for most management positions but more importantly to know when and where to refer for greater legal support.
Business Law provides the fundamental skills in commercial law and the necessary skills to provide pragmatic and commercially focused perspectives to a variety of employers within the public and private sectors.

We will do our very best to help you enjoy your university experience and time with the Law School. We are always keen to hear about constructive feedback that helps us make the Law School a better experience for you.
