Making the most of opportunities in the Energy Industry –A Female Engineer's Perspective

Thursday 10 October 2013

The Women in Engineering Panel, Engineers Australia, WA Division and the School of Engineering and IT, Murdoch University are delighted to invite you to a presentation by Marjan Ladjarvardi, Senior Electrical Engineer, Verve Energy. This seminar forms part of a series of events organised by the Engineers Australia WA Women in Engineering Panel, bringing together female engineering students from Perth Universities with practicing female engineers. Apart from Marjan’s presentation, the event will also provide you with opportunities to network and share your experiences of addressing the issues female engineers face in a male dominated field.

About the speaker and the presentation:

Marjan is a Senior Electrical Engineer who works in the project development group at Verve Energy. She completed her PhD at Curtin University in 2008. Marjan worked for Western Power for 5 years before joining Verve Energy in 2013. Marjan is also a casual lecturer at Curtin University. She has published more than 25 Conference/Journal papers on different areas of power engineering. During her time in industry, Marjan has been highly involved in system studies and modelling, resolving technical issues in connection of generating units to the network as well as development of new projects suitable for connection to the system including solar farms, wind farms and gas turbines. Marjan will share her experiences working in a male-dominated industry and contributing to the development of renewable energy projects in Western Australia.
