Project: Improving Nutrient use Efficiency on Sands with biochar and Clay.Application of biochar or clay to agricultural soils has the potential to greatly improve soil physical, chemical and biological conditions. My study aims to determine whether the addition of biochar and clay to sandy soils will improve nutrient use efficiency, nutrient balance and soil properties after repeated cropping cycles.

My project is Effect of Clay and Biochar amendments on K forms and Availability in sands in collaboration with GRDC project.

Objectives:

1.To catergorise clays and biochar according to the effect on K forms in sands.

2. To determine the effect of clay and biochar on K availability to plants.
