Top End research initiative promising

Murdoch’s scientists from the newly launched Western Australian Tropical Research Initiative (WATRI) are optimistic for the future after government and industry talks.

Murdoch researchers Professors Bernie Dell, John Howieson and David Doepel were at the Australian Bureau of Agriculture Research and Economics conference in Kununurra to talk with potential partners on research and development projects in the Top End.

WATRI is moving from strength to strength following productive meetings with regional stakeholders.

WATRI interim Director, Dr Richard Bell, said discussions were promising, with various groups expressing an interest in working closely with WATRI.
