Students organise concert to help end domestic violence

Murdoch students are organising a large Perth concert to raise funds for Zonta House Women's Refuge and support victims of domestic violence.

The "I Will not Fall" event has been organised by the Murdoch volunteers as part of Amnesty International's 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence campaign.

Six local bands and artists have donated their performances to support the cause: Nat Ripepi, Djiva, Zxspecky, One Tiger Down, Hayley Beth, Damien Thornber and The Orphans.

Event Details:

Date: December 6, 7pm - midnight.
Location: Ginger's Garage, William St, Perth.
Tickets: $15 at door, or in advance by email, or phone 9360 6307.

All proceeds from the event, organised by Murdoch's Students Without Borders, will be donated to Zonta House Women's Refuge.  Zonta House provides emergency accommodation for single women who have found the strength to escape from a domestic violence situation.

Students Without Borders recently won two WA Community Services Industry Awards for its work to encourage students to become involved in volunteer programs and community-based organisations in social justice, community development and human rights.
