Creative Sustainability Exhibition
An exhibition of passionate and inspiring creative works exploring sustainability is now on display at Murdoch University’s South Street Library.
The exhibition is by students and staff in the unit Global and Regional Sustainability.
Unit coordinators Peter Devereux and Professor Nick Costa introduced the exhibition after a Nyoongar greeting from Associate Professor Glen Stasiuk.
Newly-elected Fremantle Mayor, and Dean of Murdoch’s School of Sustainability, Brad Pettitt launched the exhibition as his first act after being sworn in as Mayor the night before.
He said the exhibition was an inspiring demonstration of the sort of creativity and action needed to tackle our urgent sustainability issues.
Mr Devereux said the exhibition by students from both Environmental Science and Sustainability demonstrated their sustainability issues investigations and also how they could make a difference alongside communities and government.
“Sustainability requires each and every one of us to actively pursue positive change, and fundamental to this, is thinking and acting creatively,” Mr Devereux said.
“Our students from the Global and Regional Sustainability unit have been actively involved in creating artworks as well as engaging the Murdoch and broader community in a range of sustainability themes and actions.”
The exhibition will be in showing on level three of the library until Sunday, October 25.
