Kulbardi's Strategic Direction

The fundamental project of the Kulbardi Centre is to increase Indigenous participation in higher education and provide support for students throughout their studies.

Therefore, over the next four years, Kulbardi will focus its efforts to concentrate on its four core functions:

  1. Increase Indigenous engagement in higher education;
  2. Provide effective academic, cultural, emotional and social support for all Indigenous students in achieving their academic goals through the advancement of a whole of university approach to Indigenous student support and academic achievement;
  3. Developing a postgraduate student strategy that looks to increase enrolments and completions of Indigenous students in postgraduate studies with a view to increasing the Indigenous academic workforce within Murdoch University and academia more generally, and;
  4. Provide leadership to the University on key Indigenous issues and act as an intellectual hub that informs and stimulates community debate that reflects the needs and aspirations of local Aboriginal communities and their relationship to academia.

The Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre Strategic Plan (2014-2017) is available.
