Eligibility
To be eligible for the William D. Ford Direct Lending Program at Murdoch University a student must meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled in at least half-time in an eligible program i.e. Bachelors, Masters or PHD.
- Be enrolled internally (no distance, external or online courses.)
- Agree to and maintain US Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress, while complying with the conditions of your student visa.
- Be a citizen or eligible non-citizen of the United States.
- Be in compliance with Selective Service registration requirements if you are male and between the ages of 18-25.
- Graduate PLUS loan and Parent PLUS loan borrowers must pass a simple credit check.
- Comply with requests of documentation for Verification purposes with the United States Department of Education as per your Student Aid Report.
- Submit all documentation required by Murdoch University to process your loan application.
Students will not be eligible if:
- The student has defaulted on an education loan or owes a refund on an education grant.
- Has been convicted of any offense under State or Federal Law involving the sale or possession of a controlled substance while receiving Title IV funding
- A student is enrolled in a Nursing Program at Murdoch University.
- A student is enrolled in a Gainful Employment Program ie: Graduate Certificates, Graduate Diplomas at Murdoch University.
- If you undertake research in the United States but are enrolled at Murdoch University.
