Current overseas student health cover information
All international students, as part of their student visa regulations, must maintain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the length of their student visa.
Failure to maintain valid OSHC means you are in breach of your student visa regulations and you risk being sent home. Murdoch International encourages all international students to purchase program length OSHC from their OSHC provider. Program length cover will ensure that you will never need to renew your OSHC whilst studying and you will also receive a discount on your premium.
Since 2004 Worldcare has been Murdoch University's preferred health care provider for OSHC and Murdoch International can assist current international students renew their OSHC with Worldcare.
Alternatively, students can renew their OSHC using a credit card directly with Worldcare.
Registering with Worldcare
After your initial arrival in Perth, please make sure you visit Worldcare to register your personal details (including your Perth postal address) so a membership card can be posted to you.
To log on to the Worldcare website and register with Worldcare, students must provide their policy number, family name and date of birth.
To renew your OSHC with Worldcare
- Complete an OSHC Renewal form before your OSHC cover expires.
- You will then pay the renewal fee to the University Cashier and bring the receipt and completed OSHC Renewal form to Murdoch International for processing.
- If you are unsure about how much to pay, visit Murdoch International and we can advise you.
- Murdoch International will forward your payment to OSHC Worldcare and your Membership Card will be posted by Worldcare directly to your home address. [That is the address recorded on their computer records].

- Students are able to submit a claim to OSHC Worldcare on-line, by post or in person to the visiting OSHC representative on Murdoch campus.

Medibank membership
Current students who have OSHC membership with Medibank must renew their OSHC directly with Medibank. Murdoch International only processes OSHC renewals with Medibank for sponsored students.
Medibank also offer an on-line membership renewal service.
Students who have OSHC with Medibank must visit a Medibank Retail Centre to submit a claim, or submit a claim via post to Medibank.
Upgrading your OSHC
Generally your OSHC policy will not cover extras such as dental cover, optical cover, physiotherapy etc. To be covered for these extras students need to upgrade their OSHC cover.

The OSHC representative currently visits The Student Centre at the following times:
Monday 1:00pm- 4:00pm; Wednesday 12:30pm- 3.30pm and Friday 9:30am- 11:30am
Alternative arrangements
Students may also have arranged OSHC with providers other than Worldcare and Medibank and must consult the provider concerned for policy, renewal and claim information.
Students must inform Murdoch International if they have arranged OSHC with an alternative provider to Worldcare.
