Unit options

You may not be seeking to undertake a whole course or degree, and only want to complete a unit or two. This maybe because you want to pick up units that Murdoch offers towards a degree you are studying elsewhere, because you only need one or two units in order to meet a professional registration requirement or even just because you’re interested in one particular unit. We are able to offer you a number of different flexible options:

Non Award/Continuing Education

If you are seeking to take units just for interest or need to take only a couple of units to meet professional registration requirements, you would apply for entry to university as a “Non Award” or “Continuing Education student”, detailing which particular units you want to complete on your application.

This type of study is available at any level, either undergraduate or postgraduate. To find the unit you are interested in taking you can check out the courses section of our website or search our online handbook for more ideas.

To apply complete the Non Award Application form (pdf format) and post or deliver to: The Student Centre, Murdoch University, South Street, MURDOCH, WA 6150.

Please note that fees for units undertaken as a Non-Award/Continuing Education student will be charged at a full fee rate.

Cross Enrolment

If you are currently studying at another Australian institution you can add units from Murdoch University towards your qualification. This is called “Cross Institutional Enrolment” or “Cross Enrolment”.

To apply, you need to first seek permission from your home institution and then submit the relevant forms from your home institution with a completed Cross Enrolment Application Form (pdf format) and post or deliver to: The Student Centre, Murdoch University, South Street, MURDOCH, WA 6150.

Students may apply to cross enrol into units at any level, either undergraduate or postgraduate. The fees for units undertaken as a Cross Enrolled student will be charged in line with your enrolment at your home university.
