Deciding what to study
Murdoch offers over 80 undergraduate degree courses - all taught by enthusiastic and well-qualified academic staff.
Choose from the Sciences, Veterinary Science, Chiropractic and our new degree in Sports Science , or explore the areas of Business, Engineering, the Humanities, Communications, Media, Education, Social Sciences, Law, and Information Technology.
Our degree courses are flexible, so you can broaden your qualifications (and your choice of careers) by taking a double – or even a triple - major. In most cases, a double major takes no more than three years to complete.
Most of our degrees have foundation and core units (the ones you MUST take) and elective units (they’re the ones YOU choose). This is a great way to explore new subjects and learn from a variety of different areas because you can add units as you go.
Postgraduate options
We have over 90 courses available from Graduate Certificates to Masters as well as MPhils and PhDs in a wide variety of academic areas.
With over 800 postgraduate students in 2006, excellence in research training and coursework degrees continues to be a priority.
Gaining entry
Our admissions policy means that we’re happy to help students from non-traditional academic backgrounds qualify for our courses. If you are not sure what you need to apply then Gaining entry to Murdoch University is a tool designed to help you learn about the number of admission pathways available and which best suits your situation.

We have grouped together our courses into study areas, making it easier for you to learn more about the general area of study as well as provide you with more details on the specific course you are interested in.
