Quality Review and Quality Assurance at Murdoch University

The Office of Academic Quality, Curriculum Management and Policy supports the development of academic quality, strategy, policy and procedure in relation to learning, teaching and curriculum.

The Office provides support to academic and professional staff in the interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures relating to quality management, learning, teaching and curriculum, boards of examiners and academic misconduct. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Office leads a variety of strategic programs aligning with the University's strategic vision. Current programs include Curriculum @ Murdoch; Educational Policy Renewal; and Quality and Enhancement, which includes the newly introduced (2017) Curriculum Diagnostic process for curriculum review.

The Office also manages academic calibration, the external benchmarking of student learning outcomes via the national IRU Academic Calibration Project. Additionally, the team promotes the Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF) across the University and coordinates the University’s responses to requirements for reporting to the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA). The Office is currently preparing the University submission for TEQSA registration due in 2020.
