Addressing today's global security challenges - including terrorism - involves a combination of diplomacy, development, capacity building and military force. In this course, you'll explore how security is designed to protect individuals and their values, norms, rules, institutions and property from military and non-military threats.

This qualification could lead you to a career in journalism, international business and corporate management, or intelligence services. You could also apply for positions with the Departments of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Defence, Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs, various state and federal intelligence and security agencies, and the Attorney-General's Office. If you have a degree in Law, Business or IT, your range of career prospects will be even wider.

Take your previous studies a step further

You can apply for this course if you have a recognised Bachelor's degree or higher or an equivalent qualification, though not necessarily in an area directly related to this course. You can also apply based on your relevant prior experience, and your application will be considered individually by the Academic Chair.

This course can be completed full-time or part-time, in both internal and external modes.
