Media Arts Centre
The Media Arts Centre has a host of equipment and facilities available to you during your course which are of broadcast quality and comply with industry standards. Our technicians, tutors and lecturers are all practicing industry professionals, which means you can gain real world skills from those in the industry.
TV Studios
The Media Arts Centre hosts two state of the art digital TV studios which are capable of film and video production ranging from basic studio-based programming to sophisticated drama and digital effects.

News Room
The News Room is the production hub for Radio, TV and Online News. The News Room hosts a range of equipment and tools for newsroom tasks such as recording phone interviews, preparing radio and TV bulletins for broadcast and online news.

Print Journalism Space
The Print Journalism Space is set up to incorporate both theoretical and practical aspects of Journalism. Meeting areas, computer labs, internet and specialised computer software are available to help you put together print stories for online, newspaper and magazines.
Radio Studios
Three Radio Studios allow producers to switch between live programs, the news or go to air themselves. These include the News Studio, Live Studio and Producers Studio.

Video Edit Suites
14 non-linear digital suites use a variety of advanced software programmes to edit both sound and vision location-recorded material together.
Titling, still images and a variety of video effects, such as multi-layer compositing, “letterboxing” and special digital “film” effects can be used to enhance the final video.

Computer Labs
Five computer labs provide the opportunity to use hardware and software to develop games, online, CD-Rom and DVD projects. An ever growing list of applications and software can be used to incorporate video, animation and sound into productions.

Recording Studio
Radio plays, musical bands, Foley sounds, and audio dialogue replacement can all be recorded in our multi-track recording studio at the Media Arts Centre.

Surround Sound Suites
Two multi-speaker workstations allow you the opportunity to create interesting surround sound scapes that can be used in productions.

Location Equipment
A large list of location equipment with everything from SLR digital cameras to a 16mm film camera is available to be borrowed during the course of your study.

Teaching Spaces
Three teaching spaces are equipped with audio visual and computer equipment - which means your lecturers can present new materials to you in an interactive and intriguing way.
