Dr Peter Wright

In a completely different area, Dr Peter Wright is working to bring communities together through the Arts.

His collaboration with multi-award winning social impact of the arts company, BIG hart, involves working hard and creatively to make a difference in people’s lives all over Australia.

The company focuses on people in society’s margins, including older people, Indigenous Australians and young people disengaged from education. The aim is to engage these people through arts practice to develop skills, confidence and to inevitably promote social cohesion.

Dr Wright's research in inner city public housing, rural and regional Australia has identified how the Arts can help people discover creativity, build social bonds and more importantly, provide pathways back to education and into employment.
