Master of Midwifery (Specialisation)

Gain a postgraduate qualification in Lactation Consultancy to enjoy a range of new opportunities in your nursing career.


Specialise in Lactation Consultancy

In this course, you'll learn the skills and knowledge you need to meet the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiner's (IBLCE) requirements for a lactation-specific academic program. You can gain valuable clinical experience through your choice of elective internship units.

After completing this course, you can apply to sit the IBLCE exam. Passing this exam allows you to register as an International Board Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), and join the International Lactation Consultants Association (ILCA) and Lactation Consultants of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ).


Extend your passion for midwifery

You can apply for this course if you have a Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent, or have extensive and relevant clinical experience, and you are a registered midwife. You can complete the full Masters of Midwifery with 18 months of full-time study, or study for two semesters to graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma.
