Choose from a variety of units covering the contested theory and practice of development in areas such covering:
- global,
- Asia-Pacific,
- Australian indigenous,
- community, and
- sustainable development perspectives.
Alternatively, if you do not wish to complete this course in its entirety, the one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Policy Studies (Development Studies specialisation) is available. This constitutes the first half of the Master of Arts in Development Studies.
Both courses would suite individuals who are already working in government, social services, education, journalism or with an overseas aid organisation They will develop your understanding of global development issues and social research and also be suitable if you want to work in areas such as environmental protection or human rights, which require knowledge of the relationships between trade and investment flows and people.
